Volunteer Coordinator Assistant/Relief Volunteer:

Artist Relations:
8:30 am through 6:00 pm both days; Shifts 1 through 5, 4 per shift
A key factor in attracting the high caliber of our participating artists is that they appreciate how well they are treated here. Artist Relations volunteers roam the area and establish rapport with the artists. You are key to making the artists feel welcome. You need to be visible at all times. You might watch artists' booths while they take a quick break, or help with the artist “Welcome wagon,” taking water or coffee or other refreshment, or report problems or questions they have to your Volunteer Coordinator so that operations, security, medical, or other officials can respond. You may be assigned to the Artist Relations tent, where you can help respond to requests and questions that come in from the artists or coordinate the efforts of other Artist Relations volunteers.
Festival Admissions Booth Assistant:
8:30 am through 5:00 pm; Shifts 1 through 4, 1 per gate per shift. (There will be 3 gates)
These volunteers will not be asked to handle money. Admission Booth volunteers may be asked to help hand out Admission Bracelets left at “Will Call”, fasten a bracelet to a patron’s wrist, assist the security personnel in the art “Pick Up and Loading” area, or other tasks that may arise.
Gate Monitor/ Greeter:
8:30 am through 8:30 pm Saturday; Shifts 1 through 5, 1 per gate per shift
Shift 6 on Saturday, 2 workers.
8:30 am through 5:00 pm Sunday: Shifts 1 through 4, 1 per gate per shift
There will be three gates-one will be locked at 5 on Saturday. As Gate Monitor/Greeter, you are key to making patrons feel welcome. You will go to your assigned gate, where you will greet patrons, confirm that they have the correct Admission Bracelet on their wrists, give each one a program, and make sure no one carries liquor in or out through the gate. Security personnel will be posted at each gate, and you are not expected to confront or challenge anyone entering without a proper Admission Bracelet. You can direct such people to the Admission Booth and can request the help of Security personnel if needed. Admission will not be charged after 5:00 pm but gate monitors will still be needed to make sure patrons do not carry liquor in or out.
Entertainment Assistant:
9:30 am through 5:00 pm; 1 available at all times.
The Gazebo stage and workshop stage provide entertainment to patrons. An Entertainment Coordinator will be present. The Entertainment Assistant will help the Coordinator in getting acts on and off the stage smoothly, help with any stage setup or take-down, and run any errands that are needed.
Art Corner
9:30 am through 5:00 pm; Shifts 1 through 4 (6 available at all times, 1 per art activity)
We want to create a family-friendly event and to encourage children in developing artistic talents. Art Corner is a tented area with child-friendly activities. You will assist a staff Activities Coordinator. You will lay out materials and help children and the adults who accompany them. Your presence helps assure that everyone can participate in the projects and enjoy artistic opportunities.
Souvenir Sales Assistant:
9:30 am through 6:00 pm; Shifts 1 through 4, 1 per shift
Art In The Park will have a booth that sells Festival of the Arts memorabilia such as hats, shirts, posters, etc. Volunteers will assist a Sales Coordinator and will help display, show items to the public, and fold, arrange, and account for inventory.
Survey Taker:
9:30 am through 6:00 pm; Shifts 1 through 5, 4 per shift
During Art In The Park, we need to survey our patrons because we need their feedback about their experience of the event and we need to know the demographics of our attendees. Volunteers will roam the venue and ask patrons if they would be willing to answer a few questions. You will be asked to approach patrons at random and either ask the patrons to complete the surveys or else record their answers yourself on a copy of the form, and then return all surveys to the Volunteer Coordinators at the end of your shift. Participation in the survey is completely voluntary and the volunteer should not be insistent or aggressive in asking them to take part.
Donations Brigade:
6:00 pm until after intermission on Saturday (12)
The Festival of the Arts relies on donations to be help pay for Festival events. These volunteers will roam through the audience from about 6:00 pm until the music program starts and again at intermission if the light is adequate. You will wear identifying Festival T-shirts and carry donations buckets that will be provided. The buckets are to be turned in to the Volunteer Coordinator after the intermission. |
